The 2019-20 school year will be my nineth contracted year here in Froid. I also student taught here and spent a semester teaching as a long-term substitute. Froid has been very welcoming to me. I graduated high school in Bainville in 2005 and the University of Montana - Western in 2009 with a BS 5-12 Education degree in Business and Computer Applications. I teach several classes here at Froid in both computer applications and business. I believe that these two subjects are universal. By universal, I mean that everyone, absolutely everyone, will use both a computer and business principles in their everyday work life. It does not matter if they enter the workforce directly after high school or earn their doctorate, everyone will work for or own some type of business and everyone will use a computer or computing device.
I believe that technology is becoming more and more integrated into our lives and I embrace it. I love to learn about new technology across a variety of platforms. I believe that business education is essential to the success of our country and global community. Excel is my favorite program and budgeting is a business skill that I use every day. My favorite classes to teach are Personal Finance and Computer Applications 1. I believe these foundational classes are essentials for every student.
I've known I wanted to be a teacher since I was very little, about nine years old. At that age, I taught both of my brothers to read. I have always been driven to that end and I am so happy and grateful to be living my dreams in Froid, MT.
I'm also the advisor of Business Professionals of America.
