Welcome to Froid Public School.  I am Janessa Parenteau, and I am in my second year as the Superintendent in Froid. I have spent all twelve years of my career in Froid Public School. I spent eight years (2008-2016) as the 7-12 Social Studies and K-12 Physical Education teacher before taking on the role as principal. I spent three years as the principal before stepping up into the superintendent position. I feel my strengths lay in creating positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

I graduated high school from Libby, Montana in 2003. I received my Bachelors of Science in Broadfield Social Studies from MSU-Northern in 2008 and began teaching in Froid the following school year. I received my Master's Degree of Education Leadership in 2017 as part of the Indigenous Leadership cohort from Montana State University. I am currently working towards my Ed.D in Education Leadership.

I married Gary John Parenteau, a Froid alumni, in August 2010. Our children, Kaya (my step-daughter), Colby, and Chase are the fourth generation of my husband's family to walk the halls of Froid Public School. My stepson Noah is currently serving in the U.S. Army and my step-daughter Ali lives in Colorado with her mother. In my spare time I enjoy reading, running, boating, and being in nature.

I enjoy visiting with others and hearing about new ideas. Feel free to email me or give me a call at the school.
